Volunteer army helps transform Bristol care farm

Aviva volunteers hard at work on the FarmThere’s currently a lot happening down on the Farm, with a new visitors’ area, upcycled furniture shop, and cafe on the horizon, we have big dreams to turn into reality.

With so much to do we’re hugely grateful to all the businesses and organisations who’ve chosen to send teams of keen volunteers to help us develop our plans. From giving one of our old offices a fresh coat of paint to moving Polytunnels, the teams have really got stuck in. With current cuts to funding, the help we get from a small army of volunteers is essential.

What’s it like to volunteer at Elm Tree Farm?

At the Farm we can offer teams of corporate volunteers a rare opportunity to spend time completing physical tasks in the great outdoors, spending the day together away from their usual work environment.

Lucy from the NHS, said: “Everyone was really impressed with the work you do at Elm Tree Farm and reported how much they enjoyed it. It made a real change to be out in the fresh air and amongst the mud and animals.”

Leah from Aviva explained: “The team benefited because we very rarely all get together unless it’s for a meeting or seeing each other whilst we are in the same office. It was fab, all of us spending the day together.”

Since their volunteer day, Aviva have also been fundraising for us and have raised a fantastic £400. This will further support our new farm shop development, where we sell upcycled furniture made onsite by Splinters wood workshop as well as the seasonal fruit and vegetables grown on the Farm.

Get involved

There are plenty of fun opportunities to volunteer at the Farm. If your team is interested in donating their time and enthusiasm, please get in touch with Gaby on gaby.oliva@brandontrust.org and we’ll find a project to suit you.

I am enquiring if there are any options for a corporate volunteering day in the Bristol area for a team from BT/EE

Looking at options for approx. 20 people this calendar year.

Can you please let me know if any options are available
