A team from Alec French Architects set themselves a tough challenge for Bristol’s year as Green Capital 2015 – to plant 2015 trees at various sites around Bristol.

We were lucky enough to host their final project in December, and to benefit from the planting of their 2015th tree!

The team was fortunate with unseasonably warm weather, so the ground was easy to dig. As they worked they were accompanied by some rather curious chickens.

We now have six new fruit trees – a combination of apples, greengages and pears, which should be producing fruit in the next couple of years. The fruit will be for sale in our new farm shop, or be used to make juice and jams.
